Tumblr (3.0; @josiegallows)http://josiegallows.com/<p>It&#8217;s time that I actually start making use of this domain again. Also time to ramble about my personal life. I have a lot of material to-be-released this year. A series of paintings will be the first to go public. Disgusting paintings of fairly little technical value but lots of style. I&#8217;ve really been getting into visual arts again and looking back at older pieces I should have never stopped. There was some good potential in those older pieces and I just needed to open my eyes in the right way.<br/><br/>To that end I&#8217;m moving into what will be a part-time gallery/venue in the downtown Saint Petersburg area. <em>The SIX-EIGHTY-NINE Upper</em>. It&#8217;s dual zoned and the main room (&#8220;great hall&#8221;) is larger than some of the local venues and twice the size of a lot of the local galleries. I&#8217;m counting my good fortune on this one, finally having a space to host events on mostly my own terms (I will be splitting it with some other fine folks). I won&#8217;t have the private all-nude splendor of my swanky shotgun apartment (and it is swanky) but it&#8217;s never been particularly great for guests or anything remotely resembling an event.<br/><br/>Photos of the art series, of which there will be 24 paintings and a handful of drawings, will come after the sort-of house warming party (mine at least) that will double as the gallery showing. Saw an octopus in the sky, ignored my GPS and drove like a mad man to a different beach. It’s days like this that remind me why I live here.</p> <p>In other news I don’t plan on giving any social network anymore of myself.
